Case study

Konceptual Consulting Engineers: CASA ReOC approved

Konceptual Consulting Engineers is a Melbourne-based structural and civil engineering consultancy, founded in 2021, working across infrastructure, earth-retaining, industrial, event and façade engineering throughout Australia. To add drone inspection and survey to its services, Konceptual needed a CASA Remotely Piloted Aircraft Operator’s Certificate (ReOC). OHS Talks was engaged to get it there.

  1. Scope the operationDefined what Konceptual would fly and where: multi-rotor aircraft up to 25 kg, aerial work, anywhere in Australia.
  2. Write the systemPrepared the operations manual and procedures under document control, with the DJI Matrice 4E and 4T listed so the aircraft were covered from day one.
  3. Appoint key personnelOur founder, Muhammad Shibli Aslam, was nominated as Chief Remote Pilot and accepted by CASA, and also took on the Maintenance Controller role.
  4. Approval and beyondCASA issued the ReOC on 6 October 2026. We now keep the manual, flight logbooks and records current as Konceptual’s drone operations grow.

Drone operators

Getting your ReOC shouldn’t ground your business.

If you fly commercially in Australia, we can help you get approved and stay that way — the same way we did for Konceptual.
